Hope everyone who loves this heat is enjoy it. The extreme humidity and heat are done by tomorrow and the rest of the week continues to look warm and above normal (which is 22c for Ottawa). However, brace yourself for a return to our ridging and upper level blocking with a very cool and dry pattern by June 6 or 7th. This will be temperatures of 4 – 5 degrees below normal which means temperatures around 18c. It looks to last into the 14 day period.
Here is a snap shot from June 8th from the GFS ensemble:
Hard to say what will happen past 14 days as there is lots of model uncertainty but this long range model still wants to give our area a decent shot at some warmth, but the below normal is certainly near by:
One thing is for certain, we will continue to be very dry. This weekend passed by without a single shower or thunderstorm for many parts of Ontario (parts of the GTA, SW ONT and Montreal to Quebec City) got some storms. Things will soon become desperate for the farmers I’m sure. We do have a chance of some rain coming around the cool down on June 6& 7th. More on that as we get closer.
